Small and Large Group Health Insurance Coverage:


Self Employed Health Insurance:

Most people today are self employed as either a sole proprietor or as an S corporation. We offer a wide range of group and individual health insurance plans to find the plan that fits your needs.

Small Group Insurance:

With Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina ® Small Group Coverage, 1-50 employees, you have an array of choices including: Blue Care Health Maintenance Organization SM (HMO) which gives you a wide choice of providers, the security of a large network, and emergency or urgent care no matter where you are. The Blue Options Preferred Provider Organization SM (PPO) plan gives you the greatest choice of providers and the security of knowing you can receive in-network care, no matter where you are. You can receive out-of-network care too, but you will be responsible for more of the cost of service, and some benefits may not be available. Blue Options PPO with Health Saving Account SM (HSA) combines all the benefits of Blue Options SM with HSA to which employers and employees make tax-free contributions. HSA help pay for current or future out-of-pocket health care expenses. Each year, as the HSA balance grows, it accrues interest tax-free and any qualified payments made from it are also tax-free. There is an annual limit to the amount of money that can be contributed, but funds that are not used in a given year roll over into the next year and are completely portable.

Large Group Insurance:

With Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina© Large Group Coverage, 51-99 employees, you have the flexibility of over 1,000 benefit combinations catering to the needs and budget of your group health insurance program. Choose from: Blue Care Health Maintenance Organization SM (HMO) plans which offer many in-network benefits including: a large network of providers and specialists, predictable co-payments for office visits, worldwide urgent care and emergency room coverage. Blue Options Preferred Provider Organization SM (PPO) offering in- and out-of-network the largest network of doctors and specialists, the ability to choose co-payments or coinsurance and deductible for office visits, and coverage in over 200 countries and territories worldwide. If you choose the Blue Options PPO SM, you can give your employees two plan options with our High/Low feature. For example, you can offer both a base benefit plan with a high deductible and another with richer benefits – without changing your contribution! Your employees will have a choice of purchasing the base plan or “buying up” to the richer benefit plan. The third plan pairs a high-deductible Blue Options PPO with a health savings account SM (HSA) giving lower premiums than traditional health plan, employers and employees make tax-free contributions to HSA, and use HSA funds to pay out-of-pocket health care expenses.
